Terms of service

Applies to England and Wales.

1. Who we are

Simply Married is an independent planning service for couples marrying in England and Wales. We are not a register office, local authority or government department, we hold no statutory registration powers, and we do not provide legal advice.

2. What you're buying

The Marriage Plan is a one-off £29 digital product: a personalised, ordered summary of the practical steps involved in legally marrying in England and Wales, based on the answers you give us. It is information and organisation, not a legal service, and it does not create any relationship with a registration service.

3. Accuracy and your own checks

We take care to reflect current requirements and we record when our register office information was last verified. Fees, appointment availability and local procedures change without notice. You must confirm details with your own register office and on GOV.UK before booking, paying or travelling. Where our information is older than 90 days we flag it so you know to check.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for giving notice in person, attending appointments, providing accurate documents and meeting deadlines. We cannot act for you, and a missed statutory deadline remains your responsibility even where a reminder from us did not arrive.

5. Payment and refunds

Payment is taken before your account is created; we use your email address to give you access to your plan. If your plan does not reflect your circumstances, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund the £29 in full. Statutory fees paid to councils or register offices are never paid to us and cannot be refunded by us.

6. Your account

Access is by a sign-in link sent to the email you paid with. Keep that inbox secure — anyone with access to it can reach your plan.

7. Liability

We are liable for losses caused by our own failure to provide the plan you paid for. We are not liable for ceremony costs, venue deposits, travel, lost dates or other consequential losses arising from information you did not verify with the relevant official source. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date below when we do. Material changes affecting existing plans will be notified by email.
